I had recently been on vacation, and the hotel had this hair dryer in their bathrooms. I liked it so much I decided I wanted one for my bathroom, found it, and purchased it! I have no regrets.

First of all I love the convenience of having it mounted within easy reach. I am always running late, so being able to "grab and dry" is wonderful. It is a powerful little dryer and dries my hair quickly.

I know others complain about the nightlight... in the beginning it seemed bright so I would simply pull the bathroom door to. Now I don't even notice it!

If you're looking for something efficient, practical and convenient, this is the little dryer for you!

Super product. Used one in a Holiday Inn Epress motel recently and tried to buy one at the motel but they were out. I got on the internet when returning from our vacation and found the same one that we liked at the motel. We tried to find it in various stores while on vacation to no avail. In fact, not many stores even offer wall mount hair dryers. This one also has a night light that comes on automatically when the lights are out. The 1600 watts drys the hair real fast.

It is impossible to find a hair dryer in the stores with less than 1875 watts. They get WAY too hot and mine melted the plastic casing. I am thrilled with the ANDIS 1200 Wat dryer. It's the right temp and the right amount of wind force for my short hair. I give it an A+.

Over the years we have had a couple different Andis Wall Mounted units, including the #33700 with the bright green nightlight, and some other manufacturer models. We like the Andis 33295/33490 the best. In my wife's bath, they typically last 3 years of everyday use on long hair. I just replaced her Andis 33700 with the nightlight that we purchased in Jan 2007 with the Andis 33490 hardwired unit. My wife likes it without the nightlight. It was too bright. Prior to buying another Andis, I did try the Oster 76932 wall mounted dryer. My wife did not like it. It did not blow as strong and was much louder. After replacing hers, the Jerdon in my bathroom died. I also decide to purchase the Andis. Installation/Cosmetic caution - since mine is being installed of the wall to my left, the nozzle faced outward. No big deal, but cosmetically, I would have liked the nozzle to face the mirror. With the wall mounted units where the unit fits perpendicular to the wall, handedness is not an issue.

You may decide to drill additional mounting holes in the bracket if you can mount it to a stud. The three mounting holes are triangular. So, if you hit a stud with one, you will not with the other two.

Another plus with the Andis units with a plug, is that the GFI (big square control with reset) is inside the unit, not outside on the cord. Also, the extra cord can be wrapped inside the unit so only the minimal amount is visible. This makes a much cleaner installation.

I wish I could find an industrial strength luxury wall mounted dryer that is build to last a lifetime. I have looked and cannot find one. The field is rather limited. In my opinion, this is the best of the bunch.

This was a replacement for a 10 year old version of the same hairdryer. The new unit is almost an exact replacement and we hope for the same long term performance. Product shipped promptly and it fully meets our expectations.

This hair dryer is powerful and quick drying for my long hair, and is petite. i'm use to those bulky big dryers but this is perfect. Only one complaint, it's not as hot as most dryers for my round brush but it definately draws out the moisture out of my hair when i need a quck blow dry. I love this little blow dryer.

I was surprised to see how tiny it is for a wall hang-up. I got one with the nightlight for another bathroom (doesn't come in black!) and it was much larger. This one would look silly in a main bathroom, it looks like a childs dryer.

Customer Review

I originally bought this model hangup hair dryer because of the cord hanger. In all honesty, I never use the hanger. I leave my cord dangle. It actually helps to detract from the power cord that runs to the outlet. If I hang the cord, I actually feel like that just spreads out the cord mess. That may be something to consider if you are buying this model for the cord hanger.

The nighlight is not as bright as some of these reviews would have you believe. If you go from having a completely dark bathroom to having this light, you will notice the room is much brighter at night, but the light is no brighter than any other night light.

You will need the right size allen wrench to switch the dryer from 1200W to 1600W as this does not come with the dryer.

I had no problems with the screw length for mounting as others have stated, so they may have fixed that problem.

This dryer is much quiter than my previous dryer which was an 1875W regular handheld model. It's not silent, but it is quieter than any dryer I've owned.

Even though this and other wall mounted dryers have lower wattage, I don't notice a significate increase in drying time (maybe a minute or two). I actually prefer the lower wattage now because I'm not blasting my hair (or scalp!) with heat which tended to cause split ends and fry my hair after continued use (I don't curl or use a flat iron, so the difference is purely a result of the hair dryers). Also, once I finish blow drying, my hair looks like it will for the rest of the day (an moderate amount of volume), whereas with the 1875W dryer, my hair would be a pouf ball first thing in the morning and gradually flatten to my head by the end of the day.

Other notes: The dryer itself is a medium size. I like that it's not one of the tiny ones because I feel like it's not flimsy and weak (even if smaller ones really aren't). It's also not as big and heavy as full sized dryers, so I find that I move it around much more and get more even drying.

I have been wanting a wall mounted hair dryer for a long time and this was the only one I found that had a cool setting. At least I thought it had a cool setting since the cool button is pictured and it is in the description, but when it arrived today it was the same model # that I ordered but the product is not the same. Very disapointed.

30 day max use - Kevin Hoffpauer -
They last only about 30 days. Only using about 15 mins a day. this is the second one. I will not buy again.
