I bought this Hair Dryer about 7 months ago. I think it the best that amazon has. It was easy to install and it compact. The retract cord and night light which I dont use is nice, but I like the LCD clock on it and it keep pretty good time. As for the dryer part it great, I have had zero issue with it for now. Now for the bad part, after about of 7 months of use. My hair dryer quit working. Then the next day it came back on. The problem I found it is the rectracting of the cord. You push the two bottom buttons at the same time and the cord retracts, now that is a plus but over time like 7 months of use, the rubber ball which slams under the dryer unit to retrack the cord. The rubber ball, stop the power cord from rectracting anymore. This created short and over time it was not getting power to the hand dryer. I am comptuer and electronic savy, so I just spliced out the short part of the power cord, got creative and solder the new piece of the power cord to the circuit board. Renforced the rubber ball and it work good as new. So if you get this hair dry you will love it at first. But retract the cord in steps and let your hand finsh the retracting. Then let the rubber ball go slowly up into it slot. If you do it this way would should be ok. Opps too late for me. But I am back in the game and it saved me in buying a new one. Thank God for high school electronics.

Before I purchased the Conair 110WMI Wall Mount Hair Dryer, I was looking for, both, a wall mount and a "mini" travel dryer. With this product, I got both in one dryer.

The "mini" size is perfect for traveling and has a lot of power for such a "little" dryer. I like the fact that I can disconnect the cord from the electrical outlet, remove the dryer from the wall mount and pack it for travel......Why buy two different products when you can get both in one?

I am very please with this hair dryer. It is exactly what I was looking for and the price was reasonable.

The only negative thing I have to say about this dryer is that it is really loud.

If you are not "sound sensitive" and are looking for a dryer with both features, I would certainly recommend this product.

I ordered this dryer about six weeks or so ago; it is an excellent dryer. I have had several salon-type dryers. They all worked well. This one, however, is a little more upscale than the ones I previously had. You do feel as though you are in a salon under a professional dryer. My husband purchased it for my birthday. In the winter, I do not like walking around with my hair wet. I have thick hair and going out with it wet in the winter is not an option. I do not blow dry my hair unless I want to wear it straight. I have kinky hair, but blow drying it makes it straight and I like to wear my hair natural. I use the timer, but since there were no instructions in the box, I am not sure if I can turn the dial backwards to cut off the timer when I decide to get up before the appointed time. So, I just let the time run out of time. There were no instructions in the box (which I did not appreciate), and there is no knob or nozzle to cut the dryer on or off; I simply set the timer and plug in the dryer; I do not like that issue. I did not ask my husband to buy the dryer for the on or off functions; however, I would have appreciated such a thing, since that is the normal for plug in products. "DUH" to the manufacturers! However, the dryer works great and it does not take more than 20 minutes to dry my thick hair. But, the dryer works extremely well. I kept it and would order it again.

I bought this about a year ago, and have used it often. I like that it's extend-able, but I thought it would allow you to angle it up or down, too, as it pulled out from the wall. It does not. It's a straight pull out, and that is all, though you can push it from side to side, easily. Be sure you locate it on the wall at the height you will use it, as it's not going to angle up and down.

The mirror itself will turn all the way around, and it flips over to show either a magnifying mirror, or a plain mirror. The magnification is pretty strong, so you will see every pore, so be ready. If you're half blind, like me, that is good, but it may be too much if you see well.

It stays where you put it, and it's really quite nice in quality. I was pleasantly surprised, and overall, I'm quite pleased.

I purchased this one and only used it for a few days before going back to my old one because this one is just not bright enough. Basically I couldn't tell that it was on at all. Fits the bill perfectly. I sought a small, efficient hair dryer that could hang up in my very small bathroom and be unobtrusive but effective. The cord - hanger is a plus, allows the coiled cord to be placed out of the way.
I disagree with some reviewers who found it very noisy on high setting. This dryer is just fine.

If you do your own hair like me this is an absolute must have. I have ear length hair that is cut into a short bob so I must maintain the curls in the back. My old cheapie mirror was a waste I would have to contort my body to even get a good look at the back of my hair. This mirror is wide enough for the job and since having it I have never been able to see the whole back of my hair. Now that I can I don't have to make blind judgement calls. I love it!

Traveling on business often allowed me to try quite a few hotel hair dryers over the years. The features I like about the Andis hair dryers I've used were that they were not too large or heavy, they had medium heat to medium-high heat, they didn't blow too hard, and they were relatively quite. I've used some hair dryers that almost gave me wrist strain trying to hold them, and some that caused your ears to ring once your hair was dry. The Andis' hangup models seem to find a good compromise between function and low noise levels. I've put these in all our bathrooms at home, since they can be used without disturbing others in the house even if they are sleeping. Some different models of Andis dryers I've owned before would stop working after about a year due to a diode on the on/off switch overheating and failing, but this model doesn't seem to have that issue. Other nice features that this 30975/HD-10L has are that there is no GFI transformer plug at the end of the cord...It's built into the base housing of the dryer. Also, this unit comes with a cord hang-up bracket which can be placed on either side of the base. Like other hair dryers the on/off switch will reset to the off position when it's placed back into the base wall holder. Taking the dryer out of the base again will resume the flow of warm air. Some reviewers have complained of the brightness of the built-in nightlight. It's not annoying to me and it can be use it as the only nightlight in the bathroom. If I could ask for only one additional feature, it would be a way to change the color of the LED light. There are many LED nightlights on the market that let you select what color you'd like the light to have, and lock it to that color. This would be a nice feature to have on this unit, and might please those that think the light is too bright. Last, this unit has a metal wall bracket and paper template, so it's actually very easy to install. The plastic base then screws to the metal plate, once mounted, with two small screws hidden by the hair dryer when it's in the base. Any excess cord can be hidden inside the base, so between not having an unsightly GFI box on the plug end and the fact that you can shorten the cord to just a few inches, if needed, makes for a very clean installation. No cords unsightly tangled cords hanging around your bath to get caught on other stuff. And not having the GFI plug allows other appliances like cordless tooth brushes, shavers, or rollers to be used on the same wall outlet without the adjacent plug(s) being blocked.

I have owned two of these units. I threw the first one away when, after running it on hot, it could not be restarted until the unit cooled down. Chalking it up as a defect, I purchased another unit. Same thing. The new unit simply shuts down when on high-hot. I don't want to wait until a hair dryer cools down to use it two consecutive times. I cannot recommend this unit.

The dryer comes with a GFCI outlet plug for electric shock protection. It's pretty light so if you are putting it on a clean flat wall surface you don't even need to drill holes in the wall just use double-sided adhesive. it only has two settings for blow drying which is low and high. Convenient to use, compact, does not take too much room on wall, etc. Recommended buy, unless u like three setting hair dryer with cold and hot, you like the oster type design with the on/off button on the wall, or u want to put holes in your wall surface for a more stable hold, etc.

I purchased this product because of its light weight and flexibility of handling. I am satisfied with it - it is of good quality, small and portable when traveling, mounts on wall out of the way, is powerful, and was a competitive price. The only negative is that I wished there were more than just 2 power settings. I find that my hair is now dryer, simply because I must now use a higher heat setting than with my previous dryer. Overall, though, I do not regret the purchase.

Super product. Used one in a Holiday Inn Epress motel recently and tried to buy one at the motel but they were out. I got on the internet when returning from our vacation and found the same one that we liked at the motel. We tried to find it in various stores while on vacation to no avail. In fact, not many stores even offer wall mount hair dryers. This one also has a night light that comes on automatically when the lights are out. The 1600 watts drys the hair real fast.

This is a very good product. I have been using over a month. It has enough power to blow your hair faster. However, the night light caused everyone a little uncomfortable. The light was too bright when I pluged the power. The only way to turn off light is to press Test buttom and press Reset buttom when you needed to use, which is very inconvenience. So, I opened the back cover and stick the dark tape on the light screen to reduce the bright light. I wish there is a dimm switch to adjust light.

I bought this hari dryer about 2.5 years ago. I liked the fact that it was mounted and had the night light. It was never the most powerful hairdryer but I generally only dry my bangs and just fluff the water off the top of the curls, so I wasn't that worried about it. If I was pulling and straightening my hair every day, this would not have been enough power. That said, it worked fine for what I needed. However, today it started to spark. This is not hard wired, its just a plug in model. I was pretty surprised because it gave no other indication that it was wearing out. I would expect most hair dryers that are used lightly to last longer than this. Too bad.

Considering the higher price tag for the wall mounted version and the short life of the product, I would not buy it again.

We started using this model 10 years ago - it's so much better than putting it in a drawer or leaving it on the counter all the time. This dryer has a night light but it's not bright enough to be your only night light in the bathroom. We're on our 3rd Conair wall mount dryer (all the same model). The first one lasted about 5 years - it's actually good for a hair dryer that gets daily use. The first one died (I contributed by not cleaning it enough). The 2nd had a little piece of plastic that broke off in the holder - when you put the hair dryer back in the wall mount, there's a little plastic piece that holds it in securely and that piece was damaged. #2 lasted about 4 years, so not too bad for daily use (the dryer was fine, it was the holder). Hopefully this lasts at least 4 years again.

I have owned several wall mount dryers and they seem to be chintzy - overly small and too hot, way too hot to dry my kids' hair. This one is a bit bigger, feels great in the hand and has a little switch you can set to make it run either warm or hot. My kids no longer scream and yell when I dry their hair. It has plenty of power and it looks good too. The only drawbacks are the length of the cord (could be a tad longer), and the back vent sometimes pulls a hair or two - neither are deal breakers. I'm very happy with this dryer.

READ THIS FIRST --- This unit, the model #33490 is HARDWIRED! The Andis model #33295 is the same unit with a plug. Those giving low rating because of this alone are not justified.

Over the years we have had a couple different Andis Wall Mounted units, including the #33700 with the bright green nightlight, and some other manufacturer models. We like the Andis 33295/33490 the best. In my wife's bath, they typically last 3 years of everyday use on long hair. I just replaced her Andis 33700 with the nightlight that we purchased in Jan 2007 with the Andis 33490 hardwired unit. My wife likes it without the nightlight. It was too bright. Prior to buying another Andis, I did try the Oster 76932 wall mounted dryer. My wife did not like it. It did not blow as strong and was much louder. After replacing hers, the Jerdon in my bathroom died. I also decide to purchase the Andis. Installation/Cosmetic caution - since mine is being installed of the wall to my left, the nozzle faced outward. No big deal, but cosmetically, I would have liked the nozzle to face the mirror. With the wall mounted units where the unit fits perpendicular to the wall, handedness is not an issue.

Installation of the hardwired unit requires some modification to the wall mounting bracket because the pre-punched holes do not correspond to cord position on the back of the unit. I simply drill a hole and installed a rubber grommet. I think even if you did decide to route the wire through one of the pre-punched holes, I would use a grommet to prevent the sharp edge hole on the wall bracket from damaging the wire and possible causing an electrical short. Additionally, you may decide to drill additional mounting holes in the bracket if you can mount it to a stud. The three mounting holes are triangular. So, if you hit a stud with one, you will not with the other two.

Another plus with the Andis units with a plug, is that the GFI (big square control with reset) is inside the unit, not outside on the cord. Also, the extra cord can be wrapped inside the unit so only the minimal amount is visible. This makes a much cleaner installation.

I wish I could find an industrial strength luxury wall mounted dryer that is build to last a lifetime. I have looked and cannot find one. The field is rather limited. In my opinion, this is the best of the bunch.

We've just installed the Andis model 33490 hard wired hair dryer as a replacement unit. Since it hasn't been used yet we don't know how well it will hold up but we hope that the unit has better cratsmanship than the installation hardware that came with the unit. The mounting hardware is very shoddy; amazingly crappy materials.

I had recently been on vacation, and the hotel had this hair dryer in their bathrooms. I liked it so much I decided I wanted one for my bathroom, found it, and purchased it! I have no regrets.

First of all I love the convenience of having it mounted within easy reach. I am always running late, so being able to "grab and dry" is wonderful. It is a powerful little dryer and dries my hair quickly.

I know others complain about the nightlight... in the beginning it seemed bright so I would simply pull the bathroom door to. Now I don't even notice it!

If you're looking for something efficient, practical and convenient, this is the little dryer for you!

It is impossible to find a hair dryer in the stores with less than 1875 watts. They get WAY too hot and mine melted the plastic casing. I am thrilled with the ANDIS 1200 Wat dryer. It's the right temp and the right amount of wind force for my short hair. I give it an A+.

Over the years we have had a couple different Andis Wall Mounted units, including the #33700 with the bright green nightlight, and some other manufacturer models. We like the Andis 33295/33490 the best. In my wife's bath, they typically last 3 years of everyday use on long hair. I just replaced her Andis 33700 with the nightlight that we purchased in Jan 2007 with the Andis 33490 hardwired unit. My wife likes it without the nightlight. It was too bright. Prior to buying another Andis, I did try the Oster 76932 wall mounted dryer. My wife did not like it. It did not blow as strong and was much louder. After replacing hers, the Jerdon in my bathroom died. I also decide to purchase the Andis. Installation/Cosmetic caution - since mine is being installed of the wall to my left, the nozzle faced outward. No big deal, but cosmetically, I would have liked the nozzle to face the mirror. With the wall mounted units where the unit fits perpendicular to the wall, handedness is not an issue.

You may decide to drill additional mounting holes in the bracket if you can mount it to a stud. The three mounting holes are triangular. So, if you hit a stud with one, you will not with the other two.

Another plus with the Andis units with a plug, is that the GFI (big square control with reset) is inside the unit, not outside on the cord. Also, the extra cord can be wrapped inside the unit so only the minimal amount is visible. This makes a much cleaner installation.

I wish I could find an industrial strength luxury wall mounted dryer that is build to last a lifetime. I have looked and cannot find one. The field is rather limited. In my opinion, this is the best of the bunch.

Andis hair dryer - Fred -
This was a replacement for a 10 year old version of the same hairdryer. The new unit is almost an exact replacement and we hope for the same long term performance. Product shipped promptly and it fully meets our expectations.

This hair dryer is powerful and quick drying for my long hair, and is petite. i'm use to those bulky big dryers but this is perfect. Only one complaint, it's not as hot as most dryers for my round brush but it definately draws out the moisture out of my hair when i need a quck blow dry. I love this little blow dryer.

I was surprised to see how tiny it is for a wall hang-up. I got one with the nightlight for another bathroom (doesn't come in black!) and it was much larger. This one would look silly in a main bathroom, it looks like a childs dryer.

I originally bought this model hangup hair dryer because of the cord hanger. In all honesty, I never use the hanger. I leave my cord dangle. It actually helps to detract from the power cord that runs to the outlet. If I hang the cord, I actually feel like that just spreads out the cord mess. That may be something to consider if you are buying this model for the cord hanger.

The nighlight is not as bright as some of these reviews would have you believe. If you go from having a completely dark bathroom to having this light, you will notice the room is much brighter at night, but the light is no brighter than any other night light.

You will need the right size allen wrench to switch the dryer from 1200W to 1600W as this does not come with the dryer.

I had no problems with the screw length for mounting as others have stated, so they may have fixed that problem.

This dryer is much quiter than my previous dryer which was an 1875W regular handheld model. It's not silent, but it is quieter than any dryer I've owned.

Even though this and other wall mounted dryers have lower wattage, I don't notice a significate increase in drying time (maybe a minute or two). I actually prefer the lower wattage now because I'm not blasting my hair (or scalp!) with heat which tended to cause split ends and fry my hair after continued use (I don't curl or use a flat iron, so the difference is purely a result of the hair dryers). Also, once I finish blow drying, my hair looks like it will for the rest of the day (an moderate amount of volume), whereas with the 1875W dryer, my hair would be a pouf ball first thing in the morning and gradually flatten to my head by the end of the day.

Other notes: The dryer itself is a medium size. I like that it's not one of the tiny ones because I feel like it's not flimsy and weak (even if smaller ones really aren't). It's also not as big and heavy as full sized dryers, so I find that I move it around much more and get more even drying.

I have been wanting a wall mounted hair dryer for a long time and this was the only one I found that had a cool setting. At least I thought it had a cool setting since the cool button is pictured and it is in the description, but when it arrived today it was the same model # that I ordered but the product is not the same. Very disapointed.

They last only about 30 days. Only using about 15 mins a day. this is the second one. I will not buy again.
